Rules & Regulations for AD STARS 2019

Entry Guidelines

  • All the licenses, music, lyrics, rights of portrait MUST be secured and should have a proof of permitted document to use in the AD STARS festival if a dispute arises. Entrants are responsible for licenses to be secured.
  • All ad descriptions and summaries MUST be written in English. The entrant is responsible for translating their language of the work into English.
  • The finalist is responsible for the submission of the original work. If an online submission has been selected as a finalist, the original work should be sent to the AD STARS office by mail. All of the work will be judged based on the quality of the work received.
  • AD STARS Organizing Committee is not responsible for any cost of the creation, submission, handing and so on. Entrants are responsible for these.

  • File size : Maximum 350MB,
    Maximum 3 minutes
  • exception) When Film category exceeds 3 minutes : Submit the original file and upload the edited version that does not exceeds 3 minutes as supporting file.

Do not include bars, slate or Black.

    (CMYK is NOT Acceptable)

  • File size : Maximum 3 MB (by three minutes)

Radio entry MUST submit with its English script.

Please note that entered URLs must be active from the time you submit your entry until August 31, 2019 to allow for judging.

Copyright and Copy License

  • All the materials submitted become the property of the AD STARS and cannot be returned.
  • Each entrant authorizes the AD STARS Organizing Committee to screen or publish his/her ads without charge at public or private presentations, wherever and as often as the Organizing Committee think fit.
  • Each entrant undertakes to allow the lending or selling by the AD STARS Organizing Committee of the entries to any interested public or private organization with a view to promoting the AD STARS either directly or indirectly.
  • Any entry may be compiled by the AD STARS Organizing Committee into a collection of entries.
  • Winners have the right to use any award given to them for promotional purposes on condition that this is correctly described.
  • Each entrant confirms to the AD STARS Organizing Committee that they have the legal right to enter the AD STARS on the terms of these Entry Rules. Each entrant indemnifies the Organizing Committee against all liability to any other person, firm or company and all loss arising from a breach by the entrant of any of these rules.
  • The competition entrants permit AD STARS Organizing Committee to use trademarks, animated characters and promotional items from the advertising submissions for the purposes mentioned above free of charge.
  • The AD STARS Organizing Committee will possess the copyright to the entered works and to any photographs and any copies made of said work and may use the work in any broadcast, exhibition, publication or other media indefinitely.
  • If a third party wishes to publish/broadcast or copy the entered ad(s), AD STARS Organizing Committee retains the licensing fee.
  • The exhibitors should have all the licenses using the music expressed in his/her exhibit or should be able to certify it.
  • The exhibitors, in disclosing his/her exhibits selected as the assignee and license of AD STARS Organizing Committee, may not affect their works nor create any additional expenses.
  • Entrants should be able to provide AD STARS Organizing Committee with a notarization on the authorization of acceptance for all the rights related to the exhibit.
  • AD STARS Organizing Committee understands that the exhibitors agreed not to ask for any expenses / payment related to the act that is conducted for the aforementioned purpose at the time of exhibition.

Confidentiality

  • All entrants grant AD STAR a non-exclusive license in perpetuity to publish, reproduce and/or distribute their submission throughout the world, in all languages and in any medium. Entrants also warrant and represent that the entry does not contain anything which is libelous, unlawful, offensive, harmful, or infringes the rights of others, or that is a breach of any duty of confidentiality.

  • Approximately 200 juries will conduct preliminary
    judging by on-line judging system.

    Professionals Sector: Advance to the finals

Note for General Public entrants

  • Notice: General public Winners are selected through Preliminary Competition (online) and the award (Gold winner) winners will be contacted individually in the beginning of August.
  • The complete winners list will be updated at the end of August on our website.

Final Judging Process

  • The 1st round final judging will be held from July 10 to 17, 2019 via online and the 2nd Round August 20 to 21 , 2019.
  • Judging method
    • - 1st Round(Online): Juries independently score each finalist. Only top 30 % will be nominated as winning works.
    • - 2nd Round(Offline): The nominees for the 2nd Round will be evaluated individually by the Judges and Grand Prix, Gold, Silver, Bronze Prize, Crystal will be selected with discussion.

Awards Notice

Notice to Finalists

  • Finalists will be notified by personal e-mail and also will be posted on www.adstars.org in early July.

Notice to Winners

  • The winners for each category will be noted by e-mail or, Telephone and mobile phone on August 20, 2019

Trophy

  • AD STARS provides complimentary trophies only to the Grand Prix and Gold winners at the awards. Silver, Bronze and Crystal winners can purchase trophies via our website after the festival.

Network of the Year Agency of the Year
  • This award is given to the Network that earned the highest score calculated(Grand Prix of the Year7, Gran Prix 6, Gold 5, Silver 4, Bronze 3, Crystal 2, Finalist 1) from the credit entered in “Agency Network"
  • This award is given to the Agency that earned the highest score calculated(Grand Prix of the Year7, Gran Prix 6, Gold 5, Silver 4, Bronze 3, Crystal 2, Finalist 1) from the credit entered in "Name of Entrant Company"
Advertiser of the Year International Honorary Awards
  • This award is given to the Advertiser that earned the highest score calculated(Grand Prix of the Year 7, Grand Prix 6, Gold 5, Silver 4, Bronze 3, Crystal 2) from the credit entered in “Advertiser” from last 3 years.
  • This award goes to an individual or organization that has contributed to the advancement of advertising technology and the development of sociocultural responsibility according to an international point of view.
Diversity Awards
  • Awarding the works through preliminary online judging will expedite various countries to submit their creative works, leading the field of advertisement to harbor diverse ideas thus enhance growth in the quality of advertisement
